I dunno that I can remember the whole bit I wrote up on this from NSider(although I guess there's that archive-site, but I'm not interested in fishing through it for one thing), but I'm going to try to recall how I did this again...dat-dot-dat-dat...ok.

First of all, YES, this is supposed to be heavily-sketchy. Although I'm not the fastest sketcher in the west(Midwest?), I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it. Suffice to say, at this point I wasn't drawing much, and the only way to get myself to draw within my attention span was to do a whole drawing very-very quickly, which of course makes it extremely sketchy.

I needed more fan-art at the time because I was still intent on drawing my OWN characters, but I couldn't really post those on NSider because it had to be Nintendo based fan art.

I have a habit some times about art. Sometimes I go into it not really knowing what I'm going to make...and while I start to draw one thing, small 'nicks' or problems in the drawing make my imagination see a different pose, or character, or situation, and sometimes what I started to draw becomes something else entirely. This is one of those stories. The events in this story are REAL, but this is a reenactment and therefore may or may not be complete mess. No one was hurt during the typing of this description, although I'm wondering why I'm typing so much 'extra' for no real reason...

So I started by drawing Peach. That didn't really work out. She was going to be kind of all 'floaty' and holding a floating glowing peach at about chest-level, eyes closed and smiling....but I couldn't get the hands right, so I dropped them to her lap. So then that made her in a position to be sitting.

Now she's sitting....but I realized I didn't want to draw Peach. I wanted to draw Daisy. So it became Daisy.

For some reason the hands looked like they were gripping something. That something became her dress, but it didn't quite match up from what I had already drawn, so it became a hat. Whose hat? Well whose else but Luigi's. And the face looked kind of down......so it naturally sort of became a(n airquotes) "scene". I don't normally draw ... "scenes". You know what I mean. Don't make me say it. The LO** ROMA*** kind. I don't do those(really I don't).

But I DID...so I guess there's a time and place for everything.

The 'unshaded' bit comes from the fact that I shaded everything but Daisy(although she has some shading to her), and then I looked at it and went "Ehhhhh....I could make a corny title out of that if I leave it that way." Ok so no, I didn't say that, but that's what it became. I later did a joke-pic where I lazily 'shopped Jim Gaffigan in the foreground saying that he liked her ' pale'(what the, that turned into a smiley. Why can't I disable smileys!?!?!). Jim is both a comedian and the Lord of Paleness by the way.

So that's that. Even as a sketch the quality isn't so great, and some shadows are backwards(dangit), but I had fun doing it.

I don't mean to make a habit of asking there not be any "critique" for my drawings since the last one was too, but here's the thing: this is a terrible sketch, I was NOT worried about quality so much as I was just trying to get something on paper(okay, digital paper on Painter Essentials / GIMP) before my attention span went kaputski. ALSO, this is a somewhat old drawing, and it's possible my art has improved anyway since I drew this. In other words, critiquing this piece wouldn't exactly tell me anything new...I know the problems, I just didn't care for fixing or noting them for this piece. *shrug*
